전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
“바람이 지나는 길에는 머무름이 없다.”
카린갤러리에서는 이소윤 작가의 개인전 《풍경무주(風徑無住) : Between the Feathers》를 개최한다. 이번 전시는 겨울철새의 비행과 철새들이 모여드는 저수지의 풍경을 중심으로, 소통과 자유, 그리고 서로 다른 존재가 함께 살아가는 방식에 대한 작가의 회화적 사유를 선보인다.
전시 제목인 ‘풍경무주(風徑無住)’는 ‘바람이 지나는 길에는 머무름이 없다’는 의미를 담고 있다. 바람이 어느 한곳에 머물지 않고 끊임없이 흐르듯, 작가는 존재와 관계 역시 하나의 상태에 고정되기보다 끊임없이 움직이고 변화하는 과정 속에 있다고 바라본다. 영문 제목인 Between the Feathers는 수많은 새들의 깃털 사이를 지나가는 바람과 그 움직임 속에서 형성되는 관계를 떠올리게 한다.
작가는 겨울철 가창오리의 군무에서 강렬한 인상을 받았다. 수십만 마리의 새들이 거대한 유기체와 같은 형상을 이루며 같은 방향으로 움직이는 모습은 작가에게 자유와 소통이 공존하는 이상적인 장면으로 다가온다. 특히 이번 전시에서는 기존의 푸른 하늘과 철새의 군무에 더해, 석양이 지는 시간의 풍경을 처음으로 화면에 담았다. 창원 주남저수지와 금강 하구 등 직접 찾았던 장소에서 마주한, 핑크빛으로 물드는 하늘과 저수지, 그리고 그 사이를 가로지르는 철새들의 움직임은 자유와 소통에 대한 작가의 사유를 보다 서정적이고 감각적인 방향으로 확장한다.
풍경무주 : Between the Feathers는 서로의 차이를 지키면서도 함께할 수 있는 관계, 그리고 머무르지 않음으로써 오히려 연결되는 자유에 대한 전시이다.

CARIN presents 風徑無住 : Between the Feathers, a solo exhibition by Soyoon Lee. Centered on the flight of winter migratory birds and the reservoirs where they gather, the exhibition presents the artist's painterly reflections on communication, freedom, and the ways different beings live together.
The title 風徑無住 (Pung-gyeong-mu-ju) means “there is no dwelling on the path the wind travels.” Just as the wind never rests in one place, the artist sees existence and relationships not as fixed states but as processes of constant movement and change. The English title, Between the Feathers, evokes the wind passing between the feathers of countless birds and the relationships formed within that movement.
The artist was struck by the winter murmurations of Baikal teals: hundreds of thousands of birds moving in one direction like a single vast organism, a scene in which freedom and communication coexist. Alongside the blue skies and flocks of earlier work, this exhibition brings sunset landscapes to the canvas for the first time. Drawn from sites the artist visited, such as Junam Reservoir in Changwon and the Geum River estuary, pink-tinged skies and reservoirs crossed by migrating birds extend these reflections in a more lyrical, sensory direction.
Between the Feathers is an exhibition about relationships that honor difference while remaining together, and about a freedom that connects precisely by not dwelling.
