전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
나무가 뿌리 없이 자랄 수 없듯, 완성된 제품 역시 보이지 않는 기반 공정 없이는 만들어질 수 없습니다.
《뿌리의 노래》는 오랜 시간 문래의 제조업을 지탱해 온 기계금속 장인들의 기술과 노동, 그리고 그 안에 쌓인 시간과 삶에 주목합니다.
소공인×예술가 협업을 통해 문래의 기술과 산업 생태계를 새로운 예술의 언어로 풀어냅니다.
전시와 함께 지난 5년간의 협업을 기록한 아카이브 전시와 소공인 작업장을 직접 둘러보는 오픈팩토리도 만나볼 수 있습니다.
보이지 않는 뿌리가 문래의 오늘을 만들어온 시간, 그 기술과 사람의 이야기를 《뿌리의 노래》에서 만나보세요.
Just as a tree cannot grow without its roots, no finished product can exist without the unseen processes that support its creation.
Song of the Roots turns its attention to the skills, labor, and accumulated time and lives of the machinery and metalworking artisans who have sustained Mullae’s manufacturing industry for decades.
Through collaborations between local manufacturers and artists, the exhibition reinterprets Mullae’s technical expertise and industrial ecosystem through a new artistic language.
Alongside the main exhibition, visitors can explore an archival exhibition documenting five years of collaboration, as well as an Open Factory program offering a firsthand look inside the workshops of local manufacturers.
