전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
학고재는 2026년 9월 23일(수)부터 10월 24일(토)까지 이이남(1969-)의 개인전 《시어무형(視於無形) 청어무성(聽於無聲): 생명과 존재를 향한 회화적 사유》를 연다.
이번 전시는 작가가 그동안 천착해 온 ‘이미지 변환’ 연작에서 한 걸음 더 나아가, 이미지가 형성되기 이전의 움직임과 생명 자체로 시선을 돌린 신작들로 구성된다.
현미경으로 포착한 미생물의 형태와 움직임을 전통 산수와 자화상, 그리고 인체 등 그가 오래 다뤄온 소재와 겹쳐 놓고, 이를 디지털 기술로 재구성해 낯선 시각 경험을 빚어낸다. 육안으로 쉽게 잡히지 않는 생명의 결을 따라가며, 눈에 보이는 것 너머의 자리로 이끈다.
Hakgojae Gallery presents a solo exhibition by LEE LEE NAM (b. 1969), Beholding the Formless, Hearing the Soundless, on view from September 23 (Wed) to October 24 (Sat), 2026.
The exhibition brings together a new body of work that moves beyond the artist’s long-standing exploration of “image transformation” and turns its attention toward movement and life itself, before images take form.
LEE layers the forms and movements of microorganisms captured under a microscope with subjects he has long explored, including traditional landscapes, self-portraits, and the human body, reconfiguring them through digital technology to create unfamiliar visual experiences. Following the subtle traces of life that are not readily perceptible to the naked eye, the works lead viewers toward a realm beyond the visible.
