전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
핌은 2026년 8월 27일부터 10월 2일까지 2인전 《Breathing Ruins: Still Wrestling》을 선보인다. 국내 작가 이동혁(b.1985)과 우수빈(b.1999)이 참여하며, 회화와 조각, 설치 작품 20여 점이 전시된다.
이번 전시는 폐허를 지나온 이후의 풍경으로 다루는 대신 지금도 질문과 감정이 살아 움직이는 장소이자 개념으로 바라보며, 그 안에서 우리가 예술을 통해 무엇을 붙들고 씨름할 수 있는지를 살핀다. 두 작가는 사라진 것과의 관계를 끊기보다 그것과 계속 관계 맺을 수 있는 방식을 찾아 나간다. 이동혁은 질문을 거듭함으로써, 우수빈은 감정을 끝내 외면하지 않음으로써 각자의 작업을 이어간다. 서로 다른 매체와 태도에서 출발하지만 두 작가의 작업은 결국 무언가와의 관계를 쉽게 포기하지 않는 행위로 수렴된다.
FIM is pleased to present the group exhibition Breathing Ruins: Still Wrestling from August 27 to October 2, 2026. The exhibition features Korean artists Donghyuk Lee and Subin Woo, showcasing approximately 20 works that include paintings, sculptures, and installation works.
Rather than treating ruins as a landscape left behind, this exhibition views them as a place and concept where questions and emotions still live and breathe to explore what we can grasp and grapple with through art within that context. Rather than severing ties with what has vanished, the artists seek ways to maintain a connection with it. Donghyuk Lee continues his work by repeatedly posing questions, while Subin Woo does so by refusing to turn away from his emotions. Although they start from different media and approaches, the artists’ practices ultimately converge on the act of refusing to easily abandon a relationship with something.
