전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
≪D55≫는 이번 전시가 이루어지는 강변 테크노마트 8층 사무실의 호수이다.
이 전시는 동료로서 서로의 영역을 조금씩 침범하더라도 같은 장소에 머물러보려는 시도로 기획되었다. 동시대 미술계에서 우리는 각자의 자리에서 파편처럼 부유하고 있다는 감각을 공유해왔다. 작업을 지속하는 일은 종종 개인의 몫으로 남기에, 공동의 구역에 대한 갈증이 있었다.
강변 테크노마트는 시대 변화와 함께 쇠퇴하며 공실이 증가한 상태이다. 이를 활용해 전시공간을 찾으려했지만, 구할 수 있었던 것은 가벽으로 나누어진 작은 사무실뿐이었다. 작가들은 D55호를 임시 공유지로 삼아 각자의 작업을 배치하며 함께 점유한다. 작업들은 서로 충돌하거나 뒤섞이기도 하지만, 통제 없이 각자의 상태로 함께 놓일 때 어떤 풍경이 만들어지는지 지켜보고자 한다.

≪D55≫ is the room number of the eighth-floor office in Gangbyeon Technomart where this exhibition takes place.
The exhibition was conceived as an attempt to remain in the same place together — even as colleagues who inevitably encroach, little by little, on each other's territory. In the contemporary art world, we have shared a common feeling: that each of us drifts in our own space like a fragment, unmoored. Because sustaining a practice so often falls to the individual, there has been a thirst for common ground.
Gangbyeon Technomart has been in decline alongside broader shifts of the times, with vacancies steadily increasing. We tried to find an exhibition space by making use of this, but what we could secure was only a small office divided by temporary partition walls. The artists take Room D55 as a provisional commons, arranging their individual works within it and occupying the space together. The works may collide or intermingle, but we want to watch and see what kind of landscape emerges when everything is simply placed there — each in its own state, without being controlled.
