관람료: 11,000원 <추사의 그림 수업>은 '옛것을 본받아 새것을 창조한다'는 법고창신(法古創新)의 정신으로 새로운 시대를 열었던 추사화파의 그림을 통해 조선 말기 회화가 근대로 이행하는 역동적인 흐름을 조명하고자 기획되었습니다 추사 김정희(金正喜, 1786~1856)는 학문과 예술을 통합한 당대 최고의 지식인이자 문화 아이콘으로 당대 동아시아 지적 네트워크의 중심에 있는 인물이었습니다. 이번 전시에서는 추사의 작품 중 국보, 보물로 지정된 <세한도>를 비롯해 <불이선란도>와 <난맹첩> 등 그림 작품들을 통해 추사가 도달한 드높은 예술적 경지를 살펴봅니다. 이어 추사의 비평서인 『예림갑을록』을 바탕으로, 스승의 세심한 지도 아래 독자적인 세계를 구축한 여덟 제자의 작품들을 소개하고 불세출의 스승과 제자들이 나눈 예술적 교감이 주는 감동을 전해드립니다. 자료 출처: 대구간송미술관 이미지: 추사 김정희 〈고사소요〉, 대구간송미술관

Admission: 11,000 KRW Kim Jeonghui (1786–1856), better known by his pen name Chusa, was a preeminent scholar and artist of the late Joseon Dynasty. A leading intellectual who mastered the full spectrum of the humanities, he established a rigorous academic system rooted in meticulous textual and historical research. He was a true literatus, excelling in the "Three Perfections"— poetry, calligraphy, and painting. As a 19th-century "cultural icon" at the heart of East Asia's intellectual networks, Chusa reached a sublime realm where profound scholarship and refined art harmoniously converged. This exhibition showcases Chusa's representative masterpieces, including Sehando (Winter Scene)— the quintessence of Joseon literati painting— alongside works such as Non-dual Seon Orchid, and Album of Orchid Paintings. It continues by tracing the footsteps of the Chusa School, guided by the Yerim gabeullok (Notes from the Grove of Art), a collection of Chusa's critiques of works created by his disciples. Rooted in tradition, these artists forged their own distinct creative realms through constant artistic struggle and exploration. By presenting the works of the Chusa School, which heralded a new era under the principle of "creating the new through study of the old," we hope this exhibition invites viewers to witness the dynamic transition of late Joseon painting into the modern age.
