전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
씨알콜렉티브는 2026년 9월 4일부터 10월 17일까지 이영빈의 개인전 《EVE》를 개최한다. 《EVE》는 서로 다른 시공간에서 도착한 소리를 맞아들이며, 타인의 삶을 향한 환대의 (불)가능성을 묻는다.
한 해가 다음 해로 건너가는 문턱, 12월 31일 23시 55분부터 1월 1일 0시 5분까지, 이영빈은 13년간 이 짧은 10분의 소리를 수집해 왔다. 작가 자신을 포함하여 서로 다른 장소에 있는 사람들이 각자의 자리에서 맞이한 새해의 순간들. 긴 시간을 한국이 아닌 독일에서 이방인으로 살아온 작가에게 소리는 물리적인 거리를 넘어 특정한 시공간과 연결될 수 있었던 매체였다. 그렇게 타자를 향한 그리움과 호기심이 겹친 자리에서 작가는 누구에게나 찾아오며 해마다 같은 시간에 도착하는 순간을 모아 듣고 또 들으며 타인의 삶을 떠올려 왔다.
《EVE》는 그렇게 수집된 소리들과, 그 소리들을 반복해 들으며 상상된 장면으로서 드로잉이 모여 지어진 시공간이다. 이곳의 시간성은 서로 다른 순간에서 불러들여진 소리들이 만들어내고, 공간은 그러한 소리로부터 펼쳐진 장면들로서 드로잉이 세워낸 문과 벽, 창과 틈으로 형태를 갖추고 있다. 전시는 소리가 스스로 드러날 수 있는 환경을 조성한 후 문을 열어두는 호스트(Gastgeber)의 마음으로 마련되었다.
CR Collective presents EVE, a solo exhibition by Yeongbin Lee, from September 4 to October 17, 2026. EVE welcomes sounds that have arrived from different times and places, asking after the (im)possibility of hospitality toward the lives of others.
At the threshold where one year crosses into the next — from 23:55 on December 31 to 00:05 on January 1 — Yeongbin Lee has spent thirteen years collecting the sound of these brief ten minutes. Moments of the new year met by people standing in different places, the artist among them. Having long lived as a foreigner in Germany rather than in Korea, the artist found in sound a medium capable of connecting to a particular time and place across physical distance. From that overlap of longing for and curiosity about others, the artist has gathered the moment that comes to everyone and arrives at the same hour each year, listening again and again to imagine the lives of other people.
EVE is a time and space built from those collected sounds and from drawings made as scenes imagined through repeated listening. Its temporality is produced by sounds summoned from different moments, and its space takes shape in the doors and walls, windows and gaps that the drawings erect as scenes unfolding out of that sound. The exhibition is arranged in the spirit of a host (Gastgeber) who creates an environment in which sound can reveal itself, and then leaves the door open.
