전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
삼원갤러리는 2026년 9월 11일부터 10월 24일까지 우리 삶을 지탱하는 보이지 않는 관계와 구조를 탐구하는 유정민, 정해윤 2인전 《연결의 형태》를 개최한다. 이번 전시는 수많은 섬유가 얽히는 반복적인 공정과 시간의 축적을 거쳐 탄생하는 종이의 '연결과 구축'이라는 속성에 주목한다. 두 작가는 회화와 조각이라는 각기 다른 매체를 활용하여 한 장의 종이 이면에 숨겨진 무수한 결합처럼, 세계를 구성하고 있는 유무형의 연결망을 깊이 있게 시각화하여 선보인다.
정해윤 작가는 시대의 변화 속에서도 삶을 이어가는 인간을 상징하는 ‘새’를 비롯해 실, 서랍, 파이프, 돌 등의 도상을 화면에 정교하게 구축하며 인간관계와 사회적 연결망의 복잡한 층위를 표현해 왔다. 이번 전시에서는 주요 연작과 함께 반추상 신작을 선보인다. 《Plan B》와 《People in the city》는 삶의 선택과 개인의 역사, 사회적 질서에 대한 사유를 담고 있으며, 반추상 신작 《교만의 허물》 시리즈와 《내재된 공명》 시리즈는 실수와 성찰, 사람 사이의 교감과 소통을 색과 형체의 언어로 확장한다. 또한 《소리 없는 노래(Silent Song)》는 인조잔디 위에 자연의 이미지를 결합해 상처 입은 존재에게 평화와 치유의 메시지를 전한다.
유정민 작가는 곡선과 아치의 반복적인 변형을 통해 물리적 구조가 형성되는 과정과 그 안에 잠재된 움직임을 탐구한다. 단단한 조형물 안에 미세한 긴장과 균형을 만들어내며, 서로를 지탱하고 밀어내는 힘의 흐름을 공간 속에 구현한다. 이를 통해 형태를 이루는 구조적 필연성과 그 안에 내재된 유연한 생명력을 동시에 보여준다.
본 전시는 정해윤이 포착한 '관계와 상처를 치유하는 인문학적 서사'와 유정민이 구축한 '공간을 지탱하는 구조의 힘'이 한 공간에서 공존하고 응답하는 지점에 주목한다. 종이의 탄생 원리가 그러하듯, 예술과 산업 역시 '과정, 구조, 축적'이라는 본질적인 가치를 공유한다. 회화와 조각이 하나의 공간 안에서 교차하고 대화하며 만들어내는 이 연결의 장(場)을 통해, 우리가 미처 인식하지 못했던 일상의 복합적인 구조와 보이지 않는 연결의 의미를 새롭게 발견하는 계기가 되길 바란다.
Samwon Gallery presents Forms of Connection, a two-person exhibition by Jeongmin Yu and Hai Yun Jung, from September 11 to October 24, 2026, exploring the invisible relationships and structures that sustain our lives. The exhibition focuses on 'connection and construction' as qualities of paper, a material born from the repeated entangling of countless fibers and the accumulation of time. Working in painting and sculpture respectively, the two artists visualize the tangible and intangible networks that make up the world, like the countless bonds hidden behind a single sheet of paper.
Hai Yun Jung builds intricate compositions from motifs such as the bird, a symbol of people who carry on living through changing times, along with threads, drawers, pipes, and stones, expressing the complex layers of human relationships and social networks. The exhibition presents major series alongside new semi-abstract works. Plan B and People in the city reflect on life choices, personal histories, and social order, while the new semi-abstract series The Faults of Pride and Inherent Resonance extend mistakes and self-reflection, and the empathy and communication between people, into a language of color and form. Silent Song combines images of nature on artificial turf, offering a message of peace and healing to wounded beings.
Jeongmin Yu explores how physical structures take shape, and the movement latent within them, through repeated variations of curves and arches. Creating subtle tension and balance within solid sculptural forms, Yu gives spatial form to forces that support and push against one another, revealing both the structural necessity behind form and the flexible vitality held within it.
The exhibition focuses on the point where Jung's humanistic narrative of healing relationships and wounds and Yu's structural force that sustains space coexist and respond to each other in a single space. Just as paper is made, art and industry share the essential values of process, structure, and accumulation. Through this field of connection, where painting and sculpture meet and converse, the exhibition invites viewers to rediscover the complex structures of everyday life and the meaning of the invisible connections we may not have noticed.
