전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
남석우 작가의 세 번째 개인전 제목 ≪어느 곳도 아닌 장소의 한가운데서≫는 소설의 한 문장에서 왔다. 작가는 책으로 접한 상황이 일상의 시간 위로 포개지는 기묘한 경험을 하곤 한다. 작업실을 거닐다가도, 문득 지금 이곳이 어디이며 무엇을 하는 공간인지 스스로에게 묻는 순간이 찾아온다. 그 시간 동안 작가가 발 디딘 현실은 '어느 곳도 아닌 장소'로 일시적인 변모를 겪는다.
The title of Nam Seokwoo’s third solo exhibition, From the Dead Center of Nowhere, originates from a sentence in a novel. The artist sometimes has the uncanny experience of situations encountered in books overlapping with moments in his everyday life. Even while walking through his studio, he finds himself suddenly wondering where he is and what this space is for. In those moments, the reality he inhabits briefly transforms into “nowhere.”
