전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
본 전시는 인도네시아의 화산 열도인 발리, 롬복, 자바를 따라 형성된 지질학적 토대와 그 위에 쌓아 올린 인간의 영성(Spirituality)을 소리로 기록한 예술 프로젝트입니다. 인도네시아는 환태평양 조산대와 생물 지리적 경계선인 **윌리스 라인(Wallace Line)**이 교차하는 지점에 위치한 대표적인 화산 군도 국가입니다. 이곳의 독특한 지질학적 층위는 단순히 암석의 퇴적을 넘어, 생태계의 분화와 종교적 세계관, 그리고 특유의 건축적 형식으로 이어집니다.
본 작업은 자연의 물리적 진동—화산의 울림, 바람의 결, 수계의 흐름, 암석의 공명—과 인간이 빚어낸 신성화된 소리—의례, 기도, 종교 공간의 잔향—를 동일한 **‘청취의 지층’**으로 간주합니다. 관람객은 이번 전시를 통해 대지의 진동과 인간의 기도가 어떻게 하나의 공명으로 만나는지 경험하게 될 것입니다.

This exhibition is an art project that documents and curates the soundscapes of the Indonesian volcanic archipelago (Bali, Lombok, and Java). It explores the interplay between geological formations—strata, rocks, and volcanic activity—and the religious and ritual spaces built upon them.
Situated at the intersection of the Pacific Ring of Fire and the Wallace Line, Indonesia stands as a definitive volcanic archipelago. Here, geological layers do not merely represent physical time; they extend into ecological differentiation, religious worldviews, and architectural forms.
This project treats the physical vibrations of nature—volcanic tremors, wind patterns, water systems, and lithic resonance—and the sanctified sounds of humanity—rituals, prayers, and the reverberations of sacred spaces—as a singular “stratum of listening.” Through this work, the invisible resonance of the earth and the spiritual echoes of its people are woven into a unified sensory experience.
