전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
다이브서울은 8월 6일부터 8월 29일까지 Katya SAVEL 개인전 《Paracosm》을 진행합니다.
《Paracosm》은 아이들이 구축하고 그 안에서 깊이 몰입해 살아가는 내면의 가상 세계를 의미합니다. 작가는 전시를 통해 신체, 기계, 그리고 갈망 사이의 긴장감 넘치는 공간에 대한 탐구를 이어가는 동시에, 시간의 본질에 대한 질문을 던집니다. 여기서 시간은 선형적이지 않고 재귀적이며 순환적인 성격을 띠는데, 이는 시간이 나선형으로 돌고 순환하며 스스로 겹쳐지는 문화권 공통의 유전적, 전통적 시간관을 반영합니다. 이를 통해 개인적인 것을 기념비화하고 내면의 세계를 신화화하며, 기억을 시간적 현실에 대한 확장된 인식으로 나아가는 통로로 접근합니다.
Paracosms are internal imaginary worlds that children build and inhabit deeply. The exhibition continues Savel’s exploration of the charged space between bodies, machines, and longing, while opening an inquiry into the nature of time. Here, time is non-linear, recursive, and cyclical, drawing on ancestral and traditional understandings shared across cultures, where time spirals, cycles, and folds onto itself. It treats the personal as monumental, mythologizing the internal, approaching memory as a portal toward an expanded perception of temporal reality.
