전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
우리가 보고 있는 세계는 어디까지가 실제이고, 어디서부터 우리의 인식일까. 어떤 것은 중심에서 밀려나고, 어떤 것은 빛과 반사에 의해 다르게 보이며, 보이지 않는 부분은 기억과 경험으로 채워진다. 사람과 사람 사이에서도 우리는 서로를 온전히 알지 못한 채 관계를 이어간다.
《Partial Light》는 이렇게 완전하지 않은 인식에서 출발한다. 네 작가는 각기 다른 방식으로 우리가 미처 보지 못했거나, 다르게 보았거나, 끝내 이해에 닿지 못한 것들을 다시 바라본다. 이들의 작업에서 불완전함은 채워야 할 결핍이 아니라, 익숙한 시선 너머의 것을 발견하게 하는 출발점이 된다.
How much of the world we see is actually there, and how much begins with our own perception?
Partial Light treats perception as an incomplete process — shaped not only by what is directly seen, but by memory, context, and experience. Four painters attend to what falls outside the center of vision: things overlooked, altered through light and reflection, or never fully understood. Not as gaps to be resolved, but as where the painting starts.
