전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
학고재는 2026년 5월 20일(수)부터 6월 20일(토)까지 이종구(b. 1954)의 개인전 《사유 : 思惟》를 연다. 이번 전시는 반가사유상의 형상을 축으로 삼아, 동시대의 현실과 그것을 인식하는 방식 사이의 팽팽한 긴장을 구축한다. 작가는 폐쇄된 세상 속에서 외부로 향하던 시선을 내면으로 돌려, 삶을 성찰하고 치유하는 ‘구도적 리얼리즘’을 제시한다. 1980년대 이후 천착해온 사회적 현실주의의 문제의식을 바탕으로, 인간 존재의 본질과 보편성을 탐구하여 작업의 지평을 확장시킨다. 사회적 의제를 넘어 생명과 평화의 영성으로 도달하려는 작가의 작품 세계를 집중적으로 조명한다.

Hakgojae Gallery presents 𝙋𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙫𝙚 : 思惟, a solo exhibition by LEE Jong-gu (b. 1954-), on view from May 20 to June 20, 2026. Centered on the image of the Pensive Bodhisattva, the exhibition explores the tension between contemporary reality and the ways in which it is perceived and contemplated. Turning his gaze inward after years of confronting the external world, the artist proposes a form of “contemplative realism” through which life may be reflected upon and healed. Grounded in the social realist concerns that have shaped his practice since the 1980s, LEE now expands his artistic horizon toward questions of human existence and universality. The exhibition offers a focused examination of an oeuvre that seeks to move beyond social agendas toward the spirituality of life and peace.
