전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
마이어리거울프는 다가오는 6월 13일부터 8월 8일까지 에바 코타트코바 (b.1982, 체코), 산티아고 데 파올리(b.1978, 아르헨티나), 미리암 칸(b.1949, 스위스), 카틴카 보크(b.1976, 독일), 그리고 이자 멜스하이머(b.1968, 독일)의 작업을 한자리에 모은 단체전 «부드러운 이탈 Soft Displacements»를 선보입니다.
전시 속 신체는 온전한 모습으로 머무르지 않습니다. 접히거나 잘리고, 매달리거나 구조물 안에 부분적으로 놓입니다. 단단해야 할 건축은 유기적인 형태로 느슨해지고, 일상적인 사물과 연약한 재료들은 낯선 감정의 무게를 띱니다.
세라믹은 조개껍질처럼 단단하면서도 상처 입은 표면을 드러내고, 철사 구조물은 몸을 보호하는 장치처럼 보이면서도 동시에 가두는 틀처럼 느껴집니다. 직물은 피부처럼 얇은 경계가 되고, 풍경은 더 이상 배경에 머물지 않은 채 몸과 마음의 상태를 닮아갑니다.
«부드러운 이탈»의 작업들은 현실로부터의 도피를 말하지 않습니다. 대신 익숙하다고 믿어온 몸, 사물, 공간이 조금씩 제자리를 잃는 순간에 주목합니다.

From June 13 to August 8, Meyer Riegger Wolff presents Soft Displacements, a group exhibition bringing together works by Eva Koťátková (b.1982, Czech Republic), Santiago de Paoli (b.1978, Argentina), Miriam Cahn (b.1949, Switzerland), Katinka Bock (b.1976, Germany) and Isa Melsheimer (b.1968, Germany).
Throughout the exhibition, bodies appear fragmented, folded, suspended or partially contained. Architectural structures soften into organic forms, while domestic objects and fragile materials acquire emotional and symbolic weight.
Ceramic surfaces resemble shells, wounds or ruins; wire structures evoke both protection and constraint; fabrics become skins, membranes or thresholds; landscapes drift toward bodily and psychological states.
Rather than escaping reality, the works gathered in Soft Displacements reveal the subtle instability already embedded within familiar forms, spaces and systems of orientation.
