전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
《사랑의 기술》은 사적인 아카이브를 통해 공동의 서사를 상상한다. 전시에서 ‘수집’은 하나의 사회적 실천의 행위이며, 이로부터 타인과의 연대, 그리고 윤리에 기반한 관계맺기를 실현한다. '사랑의 기술'의 저자인 에리히 프롬의 말에 따르면, 사랑이란 감정적 사건이 아니다. 그는 사랑을 일종의 ‘기술(art)’로 명명하며, 배우고 실천해야 하는 능력으로 규정한다. 그런 측면에서 본 전시는 시장가치에 의해 상품으로 대체된 교환적 의미에서의 사랑, 혹은 소유로서의 사랑, 더 나아가 자신의 욕망 충족에 머무르는 사랑이 아닌, 타자의 존재 양식으로 수행되는 사랑의 행위에 초점을 맞춘다. 이를 위해 안초롱은 타인이 촬영한 이미지를 수신, 재맥락화하여 배포하는 식으로 사진 이미지를 중개하는 매개자를 자처하고, 노송희는 일상에서 노동의 흔적을 추적, 수집하며 거시적 체계의 음화로서 지도를 작화(cartography)하며, 이강승은 언어와 사물, 이미지를 수집, 전유하고 재구성함으로 과거와 현재, 미래가 뒤섞인 공동의 퀴어적 욕망을 그려낸다.

The Art of Loving imagines a communal narrative through private archives. In the exhibition, “collecting” becomes a form of social practice through which solidarity with others and ethically grounded relationships are enacted. According to Erich Fromm, love is not merely an emotional event. He describes love as a kind of ‘art’—an ability that must be learned and continually practiced. From this perspective, the exhibition focuses not on love reduced to a commodity by market value, love understood as possession, or love confined to the satisfaction of one’s own desires, but on acts of love performed through an attentiveness to the other’s mode of being.
