전시 소개 ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
콤플렉스는 5월 29일부터 6월 27일까지 정이지 작가의 개인전 《Too Sunny》를 개최합니다. 작가는 곁을 지키는 것들의 아름다움을 회화로 기록합니다. 볕, 사랑 같은 것. 사랑인 한 사람, 내 무릎을 베고 누운 한 사람, 볕을 등진 한 사람의 얼굴에 어른거린 빛과 드리운 그림자, 눈의 물기. 이국의 나팔꽃, 레몬과 체리. 냉동고 안에 넣어 둔 지난 겨울 눈덩이, 정물을 감싼 온도와 사방의 빛깔. 정이지의 그림들은 회화라는 양식을 빌어 물화 된, 언제까지나 머무르고 싶었던 아름다움들입니다.

Komplex is pleased to present Jeong Yiji’s solo exhibition 《Too Sunny》, on view from May 29 to June 27. The artist paints the beauty of things that stay close beside us. Sunlight, love, and things like love: a loved one resting on my knees, a glass of lemonade held in her hand. Morning glories from a distant place, light flickering across her face turned away from the sun, the shadow it casts, moisture in the eyes. A snowball kept in the freezer from last winter, the temperature surrounding a still life, and the colors filling the space around it. Through painting, Jeong Yiji preserves these moments of beauty—beauty she wished could remain forever.
